Role summary
Merck seeks a scientist to support vaccine development for infectious diseases within the Biology-Discovery team in West Point, PA. - MS degree with 1+ years related experience, or BS/BA with 3+ years, in microbiology, bacteriology, immunology, or related field

- Demonstrated experience working with in vivo mouse models
- Hands-on BSL-2 laboratory experience with strong safety and documentation practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and GraphPad Prism; excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to adapt in evolving research environments and work collaboratively in multidisciplinary settings
What you'll be doing
- Develop, optimize, and implement immunoassays including ELISA and electrochemiluminescent (ECL) methods
- Perform functional antibody assays such as opsonophagocytic killing and serum bactericidal assays
- Conduct hands-on mouse vaccine immunogenicity and bacterial challenge studies
- Prepare technical documents, data summaries, and presentations for regulatory support
- Execute collaborative research in BSL-2 laboratory while maintaining compliance and data integrity
