Role summary
Becton Dickinson seeks an R&D Staff Engineer I to lead new product development and engineering initiatives for medical technology. The role requires driving technical solutions across design, validation, and manufacturing processes while managing cross-functional teams.

- Knowledge of diagnostic platforms, Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), and phase-gate product development processes
- Experience directing associates, leading cross-functional teams, and guiding complex problem-solving
- Expertise in fixture design, test method development, and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work on-site minimum 4 days per week
What you'll be doing
- Lead R&D initiatives and new product development programs as prime technical contact on contracts and projects
- Design and develop in vivo and in vitro models to evaluate product features and drive improvements
- Execute design of experiments, tolerance analysis, design verification, and validation studies
- Support material, design, and process changes through documented research and design control processes
- Collect, analyze, and report technical data to peers and leadership using statistical tools and analytical methods
