Role summary
Septerna seeks an experienced DMPK leader to define and execute absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion strategy across drug discovery and development programs. The role involves characterizing compounds from hit identification through clinical development, building internal capabilities, and managing external research partnerships.
What they're looking for
- Extensive DMPK, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics experience in drug discovery and development
- Proficiency with PK analysis software such as Phoenix WinNonlin
- Expertise in ADME study design, interpretation, and drug-drug interaction assessment
- Experience with in vitro to in vivo extrapolation and human dose prediction approaches
- Demonstrated ability to manage CRO relationships and outsourced research execution
- Experience authoring regulatory submissions and responding to agency feedback
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and mentoring capabilities
What you'll be doing
- Define and execute ADME, PK, and PK/PD strategies across multiple therapeutic programs and target classes
- Design, execute, and interpret in vitro and in vivo ADME and drug-drug interaction studies
- Analyze and present pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic data to project teams and leadership
- Manage contract research organization relationships and study execution for quality and timeliness
- Serve as DMPK representative and project team leader on cross-functional discovery initiatives through IND filing
