Role summary
Senior Director of Finance role supporting the Specialty Diagnostics Group at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Reports to Group VP Finance and serves as strategic financial partner to group leadership, overseeing FP&A, finance transformation, and key business initiatives within a $45 billion organization.
What they're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or Accounting; MBA preferred
- 10+ years of experience in dynamic finance roles including FP&A
- Proficiency in Excel, Cognos reporting, PowerPoint, PowerBI, and Hyperion Financial Management
- Demonstrated people and project management experience with successful outcomes
- Ability to lead by influence across global, matrix-structured organizations
- Strong analytical skills with attention to accuracy and business impact awareness
- Willingness to travel up to 15% annually
What you'll be doing
- Lead oversight of global SDG finance functions including FP&A and finance transformation strategy
- Support development and execution of annual, long-range, and quarterly business plans with group leadership
- Serve as strategic advisor on growth initiatives, organic and inorganic investments, and business risks
- Oversee core operating mechanisms including annual operating plan, quarterly business reviews, and forecasts
- Lead, hire, and develop group finance teams while driving operational improvements and efficiency
