Role summary
Merck seeks a Senior Scientist in Cytometric Profiling to support immunology drug development by designing and executing flow cytometry experiments on primary human tissues. - Bachelor's degree with 7+ years, Master's with 4+ years, or Ph.D. in Biology, Immunology, or related discipline
- Hands-on experience with traditional flow cytometry on BD Biosciences or Beckman Coulter instruments
- Knowledge of spectral cytometry technology, preferably Cytek Biosciences systems
- Proficiency with FlowJo data analysis software and MS Office on Windows
- Expertise in immunologic assays including T cell stimulation, intracellular staining, and ELISA
- Cell culture, tissue dissociation, and collaborative cross-functional communication skills
What you'll be doing
- Design and independently execute controlled flow cytometry experiments on primary human tissue in BSL-2 laboratory
- Develop and optimize flow cytometry-based preclinical biomarker assays for immunology programs
- Engage with stakeholders across R&D to present results and support assay implementation
- Maintain detailed, compliant laboratory documentation and support FACS core lab operations
