Role summary
The Office of General Counsel seeks an experienced Patent Annuity Specialist to manage global patent maintenance, docketing, and compliance activities. What they're looking for
- Minimum five years patent annuity experience in law firm, corporate, or IP organization
- Strong knowledge of U.S., PCT, EP, and foreign national patent prosecution and maintenance practices
- Advanced proficiency with IP docketing systems and patent office databases including USPTO Patent Center, EPO, WIPO
- Experience managing global patent portfolios across multiple jurisdictions
- Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency and exceptional attention to detail
- Notary Public Commission or ability to obtain within reasonable timeframe
- High school diploma required; associate degree or paralegal certificate preferred
What you'll be doing
- Monitor complex, multi-jurisdictional patent annuity and maintenance fee deadlines
- Prepare payment instructions, coordinate with third-party vendors, and reconcile confirmations
- Investigate and resolve data discrepancies with vendors, foreign associates, and internal stakeholders
- Generate cost estimates, metrics, and reports related to patent maintenance activities
- Serve as subject matter expert providing guidance on maintenance requirements and annuity procedures to attorneys and IP stakeholders
