Role summary
Johnson & Johnson seeks a Director to lead global legal template transformation within its contracting simplification program. This role owns strategy and execution for streamlining contract templates, clauses, and playbooks while preserving legal protections and enabling AI-driven automation.
What they're looking for
- Juris Doctor, LL.B., or equivalent law degree
- Minimum 10 years legal or contracting experience with complex commercial or enterprise transformation leadership
- Life sciences industry experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated success leading global workstreams and influencing senior leaders without formal authority
- Strong legal judgment balancing risk, compliance, business value, and user experience
- Experience with legal transformation, automation, analytics, and technology-enabled contracting at scale
- Advanced training in legal operations, project management, process improvement, or change management preferred
What you'll be doing
- Own global legal template transformation roadmap, priorities, and measurable outcomes
- Lead assessment, consolidation, simplification, and approval of templates, clauses, and playbooks across enterprise
- Establish plain-language, user-centered content standards that reduce complexity while maintaining legal protections
- Build end-to-end operating model including governance, version control, approvals, and maintenance processes
- Sponsor implementation planning, stakeholder alignment, and deployment readiness across functions
