Role summary
AstraZeneca seeks a Director of Process Safety for its Maccalsfield site to provide director-level accountability for COMAH compliance, major accident hazard prevention, fire safety strategy, and emergency response coordination. - Degree in chemical engineering, process safety, or equivalent experience
- Significant process safety leadership experience at COMAH sites

- Strong knowledge of UK process safety frameworks (COMAH, DSEAR, chemicals regulations)
- Chartered status (IChemE Process Safety Engineer or equivalent)
- Track record leading process safety programmes through capital project lifecycles
What you'll be doing
- Manage COMAH Lower Tier compliance, Major Accident Prevention Policy, safety management systems, and hazard risk management
- Lead and develop the process safety team including COMAH subject matter expert and emergency coordinators
- Own COMAH 5-year revision cycle and inspection programme response with safety report custodianship
- Govern campus fire safety strategy in coordination with Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service and corporate insurer
- Lead process safety integration into capital projects including HAZOP/LOPA governance and SIL targets
