Role summary
Data Science Consultant supporting pharmaceutical R&D clients in Tokyo, implementing AI-driven solutions and digitalized precision medicine platforms. The role combines technical consulting, customer relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration to advance drug development and manufacturing processes.
What they're looking for
- PhD or Master's degree in bioinformatics, data science, life sciences, or related field
- Industry experience in biopharma R&D, translational sciences, multi-omics, biomarkers, or CMC
- Proven customer-facing experience including workshop facilitation and scientific consulting
- Native Japanese or JLPT N1-level Japanese with business-level English
- Excellent communication and presentation skills translating complex science to business value
- Python or R scripting proficiency (preferred)
- Experience developing AI/ML solutions in biopharma R&D or lab automation (preferred)
What you'll be doing
- Lead implementation projects for Genedata Profiler and Vico platforms as scientific expert
- Scope, execute, and deliver customer data science projects with presentations meeting client standards
- Serve as primary technical contact and build long-term relationships with biopharma partners
- Partner with account management to identify opportunities, develop proposals, and expand engagements
- Provide product feedback and use case documentation to inform product roadmap and positioning
