Role summary
Biogen's Neurodevelopmental Biology Research Group seeks a motivated co-op student for a 6-month role (January–June 2027) supporting early-stage research on RNA transcript modulation and target validation using molecular and cell-based techniques.

- Currently enrolled in bachelor's or master's degree program in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or neuroscience
- Hands-on wet lab experience with cell culture and molecular biology techniques
- Strong cell biology background with understanding of genomics and proteomics
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- At least 18 years old at scheduled start date
- Experience or familiarity with qPCR, western blotting, or immunofluorescent assays preferred
What you'll be doing
- Execute molecular assays including qPCR, ddPCR, western blotting, and gel electrophoretic analysis
- Perform mammalian cell culture, plasmid transfection, and viral transduction of iPSC-derived neurons and cell lines
- Conduct immunostaining and fluorescence microscopy with quantitative image analysis for co-localization and morphology
- Generate, analyze, and document genomic and proteomic datasets to support target identification and validation
- Participate in experimental planning, troubleshoot assays, and deliver figures and summaries informing research projects
Compensation$23.00–$29.00 per hour, based on academic level and degree candidacy
