Role summary
This engineering role supports utility systems and equipment operations at Amgen's North Carolina manufacturing site. Responsibilities include system ownership, design and commissioning of new or modified systems, maintenance program development, compliance with safety and GMP requirements, troubleshooting, and process improvement initiatives. The position reports to the Senior Manager of Process Engineering.
What they're looking for
- High school diploma/GED with 8 years engineering or maintenance experience
- Associate's degree with 6 years engineering or maintenance experience
- Bachelor's degree with 2 years engineering or maintenance experience
- Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering preferred
- 2+ years biopharmaceutical operations or manufacturing environment experience
- Knowledge of GMP facility utility systems: pharmaceutical water, clean steam, clean air
- Experience with regulated environments and GMP quality systems
What you'll be doing
- Provide system ownership and daily engineering support for utility systems at North Carolina site
- Design, construct, startup, and commission new or modified utility systems and equipment
- Develop maintenance programs, manage spare parts, and coordinate execution to ensure system availability
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions to reduce production downtime
- Provide 24/7 on-call rotational support for utility systems troubleshooting and issue resolution
