Role summary
Amgen seeks a Director of Commercial Forecasting to lead the obesity business unit's forecasting team and partner with senior commercial leadership. The role involves developing data-driven sales forecasts, analyzing market dynamics and competitors, and building consensus across functions including R&D, Finance, and Manufacturing. This flexible position based in Thousand Oaks requires on-site presence 2–3 days weekly.

- Leadership experience building and developing teams
- Ability to establish credibility with and influence executive-level staff
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills for complex concepts
- Understanding of pharmaceutical markets and disease area dynamics
What you'll be doing
- Oversee forecasting efforts for the Obesity business unit and lead team of full-time employees
- Serve as primary contact for senior leaders to develop data-driven short and long-term forecasts
- Prepare and present portfolio-level forecast updates addressing leadership questions
- Facilitate stakeholder consensus on sales expectations and forecast assumptions across portfolio
- Analyze competitive landscape and market dynamics to inform forecasting models and strategy
