Role summary
A 4-6 month co-op position in immunology research within the R&D division, based in San Diego. Co-op students will conduct wet lab research on novel immunological targets, learning and applying techniques such as cell culture, CRISPR editing, assay development, and flow cytometry.
What they're looking for
- Currently enrolled as undergraduate or graduate student in biological sciences or related field
- Available for full-time, on-site work in San Diego, CA from January through June 2027
- Basic knowledge of cell biology, immunology, or molecular biology preferred
- Prior experience with mammalian cell culture, flow cytometry, or immunoassays preferred
- Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to work in teams
- 3.2 GPA or higher preferred
- Proficiency with PC, Windows-based systems, spreadsheets, and databases
What you'll be doing
- Conduct cell culture work with primary human cells and mammalian cell lines
- Execute biochemical assays, ELISA, and cytokine-based assays under supervision
- Perform CRISPR editing, RNA isolation, quantitative PCR, and microscopy
- Apply flow cytometry and FACS techniques to support research projects
- Develop professional networks within a multi-functional research environment
