Role summary
Johnson & Johnson MedTech seeks a Sustaining R&D Engineer to lead design and development of orthopedic implants and instruments throughout their product lifecycle. - Effective communication of technical concepts across functions and with clinicians
- Ability to work in operating room and wet tissue/cadaver lab environments
- Willingness to travel at least 10% annually
What you'll be doing
- Lead design and development activities from concept through commercialization and post-market support
- Define product requirements and design concepts in collaboration with internal teams and healthcare professionals
- Create CAD designs, perform tolerance analyses, and conduct FEA and lab testing to solve design challenges
- Develop and execute design verification and validation plans; ensure regulatory compliance with MDR and FDA requirements
- Support manufacturing optimization and engage with suppliers to improve manufacturability, assembly, and cost
