Role summary
Staff-level embedded software engineer role leading a small team on electrosurgical device software architecture and implementation. Responsible for developing firmware and applications in C++, C, Verilog, and Python for minimally invasive surgical systems.
What they're looking for
- 12+ years relevant experience with Bachelor's degree, or 8+ years with Master's degree
- Expertise designing complete embedded software solutions in C/C++ on bare-metal and Linux systems
- Working knowledge of embedded peripherals: ADCs, DACs, PWM, serial communications (I2C, SPI, RS232, CAN)
- Hands-on hardware bring-up experience with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
- Strong control theory knowledge and proven experience developing control systems
- Medical device industry experience; familiarity with IEC 60601 and 62304 standards preferred
What you'll be doing
- Lead small team through technical development of embedded electrosurgical device software
- Develop software applications for electrosurgical and robotic minimally invasive surgery products
- Write firmware in C++, C, Verilog, and Python for embedded systems
- Develop real-time software for energy data acquisition, processing, storage, and analysis
- Independently solve assigned technical problems and support manufacturing and test operations
