Zifo seeks a Senior Automation Engineer to lead the design and delivery of scalable, compliant automation solutions across scientific and laboratory workflows. The role combines technical architecture with client engagement, leveraging expertise in laboratory informatics platforms, Python, AWS, and modern software engineering to transform experimental processes into production-ready systems.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, Life Sciences, or related field
6+ years automation, software engineering, and technical development experience
3+ years customer/client engagement and relationship management experience
Proficiency in Python, FastAPI, AWS, and modern cloud technologies
Experience with Benchling, LIMS, ELN, SDMS, CDS, or enterprise data platforms
Strong expertise in APIs, microservices, data pipelines, and integration patterns
Knowledge of GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and regulated environment requirements

What you'll be doing

Own end-to-end automation initiatives from discovery through production support and deployment
Design and develop automation frameworks, APIs, microservices, and data pipelines using Python and AWS
Lead integrations with scientific platforms and enterprise systems using multiple integration patterns
Establish reusable frameworks, components, and engineering standards across teams
Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and architecture guidance to engineering teams
