AstraZeneca seeks a Specialist/Senior Specialist Decision Scientist to design and deploy production-grade AI and ML systems that enable critical enterprise decisions. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with generative AI expertise, MLOps practices, and cross-functional collaboration to translate data-driven insights into measurable business outcomes.

What they're looking for

7–10 years software engineering, ML engineering, AI engineering, or related technical experience
Proven track record building and deploying production AI/ML applications at scale
Strong Python programming with modern software practices: Git, testing, APIs, CI/CD
Experience with ML frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, or equivalent
Hands-on development of generative AI/LLM applications: RAG, embeddings, prompt engineering, agents
MLOps/LLMOps experience including model deployment, monitoring, versioning, and observability
Cloud deployment experience in Azure, AWS, or GCP; familiarity with data pipelines and APIs

What you'll be doing

Develop, test, and deploy ML models and intelligent systems with measurable business impact and adoption
Write production-quality code, build APIs and data pipelines, integrate AI workflows using secure and scalable practices
Design and implement LLM-based applications, RAG solutions, and prompt strategies with model evaluation
Establish CI/CD, testing, versioning, monitoring, and operational controls to maintain production system health
Partner with data scientists, engineers, platform teams, and stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions aligned to business needs
