Role summary
Baxter seeks a Payment Posting Specialist in Houston to accurately process, validate, and reconcile patient and third-party payer payments within billing and accounting systems. What they're looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred
- 3+ years healthcare revenue cycle, medical billing, or payment posting experience
- Experience with billing, practice management, or revenue cycle management software
- Knowledge of healthcare insurance, payer processes, and reimbursement methodologies preferred
- Proficiency with EOBs, ERAs, EFTs, remittance advice, and reconciliation preferred
- Strong analytical and data entry skills with ability to identify discrepancies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
What you'll be doing
- Post and validate insurance, patient payments, adjustments, denials, and payer correspondence
- Process cash and receivable transactions from checks, ACH, lockbox files, and ERAs
- Reconcile payments to deposits and investigate discrepancies
- Maintain cash posting metrics and reconcile activity to General Ledger
- Collaborate with billing, accounts receivable, and customer service teams to resolve issues
