Role summary

Johnson & Johnson seeks a Senior Ontologist for Biologics Discovery to design and govern semantic models that make scientific data interoperable and AI-ready across discovery workflows. This cross-functional role will build ontologies, controlled vocabularies, and knowledge graphs connecting antibody, protein engineering, assay, and sequence data while aligning to enterprise standards.

What you'll be doing

Design, code, test, and release validated ontology modules and controlled vocabularies across biologics discovery domains
Partner with biologists, assay scientists, and domain experts to capture and translate scientific concepts into semantic models
Publish ontology packages as API-ready semantic assets for knowledge graphs and AI/ML workflows
Embed semantic layers into data pipelines and catalogs to enable entity linking, classification, and semantic search
Align biologics semantics with enterprise standards and collaborate with peer ontologists in manufacturing and controls
