Role summary

Merck seeks a Senior Data Scientist to develop imaging foundation models and interpretable pipelines for immunology and oncology biomarker discovery. What you'll be doing

Develop and train imaging foundation models for histopathology focused on immune-relevant patterns
Build segmentation and cell-centric analysis pipelines for immune cell typing and microenvironment characterization
Design interpretable workflows linking image-derived features to biological hypotheses and clinical outcomes
Apply zero-shot and weakly supervised learning to extract immune signals from H&E and IHC data
Collaborate with immunologists, pathologists, and translational teams on biomarker development and imaging strategies
