Role summary

Pfizer Vaccines Research seeks a senior AI/ML engineering leader to build an AI-ready research data ecosystem for vaccine discovery. The role combines data architecture, predictive modeling, and scientific leadership to transform diverse vaccine research datasets into strategic assets that accelerate vaccine development and inform portfolio decisions.

Proven track record designing and deploying data-intensive AI/ML solutions with complex scientific or biological datasets
Expert-level Python proficiency with modern frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or equivalent
Hands-on experience building data architectures, integration frameworks, semantic models, metadata standards, and knowledge graphs
Cloud and/or high-performance computing environment experience
Cross-functional collaboration experience across scientific, computational, and technology teams
Ability to influence technical direction and lead initiatives across multiple organizational boundaries

What you'll be doing

Lead strategy and implementation of AI-ready data transformation for heterogeneous vaccine research datasets across laboratory, preclinical, and clinical domains
Design integrated data architectures, automated pipelines, and semantic frameworks that enable data discoverability, interoperability, and AI readiness
Develop machine learning and predictive modeling approaches leveraging multimodal datasets to support vaccine candidate evaluation and portfolio decisions
Mentor scientific and technical teams in AI best practices and data-centric discovery approaches
Serve as technical liaison between Vaccines Research and broader Pfizer R&D AI and data organizations, representing vaccine-specific needs
