Role summary

Amgen's ARIA Computational Biology team seeks a computational biologist to apply data science and disease biology expertise toward identifying and validating therapeutic targets. The role involves analyzing multi-modal omics data, developing prioritization methods, and partnering with cross-functional teams to integrate insights into R&D platforms.

  • Ph.D. in computational biology, bioinformatics, data science, or related field; or Master's degree with 3+ years relevant research experience
  • Strong programming in Python, R, Linux/Unix; experience with cloud computing and HPC environments
  • Proven expertise analyzing and interpreting single-cell omics data
  • Track record designing computational strategies to address complex research questions
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills for diverse audiences
  • Background in immunology and single-cell oncology or inflammatory disease data analysis (preferred)
  • Experience with long-read transcriptomics, isoform complexity, or transcriptional foundation models (preferred)

What you'll be doing

  • Extract biological insights from multi-modal omics and screening data to characterize disease mechanisms and identify novel targets
  • Develop and leverage computational methods to prioritize therapeutic targets across diseases and guide target characterization
  • Design discovery approaches for novel disease-enriched isoforms using long-read and proteomics technologies
  • Partner with data science and information systems teams to integrate analyses into integrated R&D platforms
