Role summary
The Infectious Disease and Vaccines department seeks a scientist to develop and execute in vitro virological and immunological assays supporting vaccine discovery. The role combines laboratory expertise with data generation and cross-functional collaboration on early-stage antiviral and vaccine programs.
What they're looking for
- Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques including PCR, qPCR, nucleic acid extraction, and cloning
- Proficiency in mammalian cell culture and aseptic laboratory techniques
- Experience performing ELISA, ELISpot, or other immunological assays
- MS in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Virology, Immunology, or related field with 1+ year experience; or BS/BA with 3+ years experience
- Strong written and verbal communication with demonstrated attention to detail and collaboration skills
- Flow cytometry and intracellular cytokine staining experience preferred
- Virology background with virus amplification, TCID50, plaque assays, and neutralization assays preferred
What you'll be doing
- Optimize and execute novel assays to address project scientific questions and discovery needs
- Perform multiparametric analyses using ELISA, flow cytometry, qPCR, and functional cell-based assays
- Support in vivo studies by developing downstream bioanalytical and immunological assessments
- Document experimental findings and assay protocols while maintaining laboratory safety compliance
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and continuously learn new techniques and methodologies
