Role summary

Avantor seeks a Sales Specialist in Analytical Chemistry to support territory development and account management across Texas and surrounding southern states. The role combines technical expertise in chromatography and analytical instrumentation with field-based sales activities, requiring strong customer relationship skills and self-directed execution.

What they're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 3+ years chromatography experience
  • Firm understanding of analytical chemistry marketplace (HPLC, LC/MS, GC, GC/MS, FPLC, flash, purification, spectroscopy, ICP, wet chemistry)
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel 4+ days weekly throughout South-Central U.S.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Preferred: analytical lab experience with sample prep and data analysis
  • Preferred: instrument operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting; Salesforce and SAP experience

What you'll be doing

  • Develop territory plans and identify qualifying opportunities within analytical chemistry workflow
  • Provide technical solutions aligned with customer requirements and long-term account goals
  • Support generalist sales representatives and management through regional meetings, strategy sessions, and technical seminars
  • Build and maintain strong external partnerships with manufacturers and industry experts
  • Understand customer needs through relationship building and ask clarifying questions to ensure timely solution delivery
Compensation$86,250–$146,912.50 base salary; $123,250–$209,875.00 total cash opportunity (base plus target sales incentive)
