Role summary
Johnson & Johnson seeks a scientist to lead downstream process development and optimization for lentiviral vectors in cell therapy and CAR-T programs. What they're looking for
- BS or MS in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biological Sciences, or related field with 2-4 years industry experience
- Hands-on experience with chromatography, clarification, depth filtration, UF/DF, and sterile filtration
- Demonstrated purification process development for biologics, cell therapy, gene therapy, or viral vectors
- Proficiency in data analysis, experimental design, and technical documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Experience with bioprocess technology transfer to GMP manufacturing strongly preferred
What you'll be doing
- Design and execute downstream process development studies for lentiviral therapeutic products
- Conduct purification experiments including chromatography, filtration, UF/DF, formulation, and automated high-throughput systems
- Manage downstream equipment operations including AKTA systems, TFF systems, and purification skids
- Support technology transfer to manufacturing sites and provide subject matter expertise for commercial manufacturing investigations
- Apply statistical design, data analytics, and visualization tools to strengthen process understanding
