Role summary
Merck is offering a 10-12 week summer internship in pharmaceutical analysis and large molecule analytics across multiple locations. Interns will develop analytical methodologies supporting drug substance and product development while gaining exposure to instrumentation, chemistry fundamentals, and the drug development process.
What they're looking for
- Currently enrolled student pursuing Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical/Biological Engineering, Materials Science, Pharmaceutical Science, or related field
- Completed at least two years of study toward a bachelor's degree by June 2027
- Available to work full-time for 10-12 consecutive weeks beginning May or June 2027
- Basic laboratory skills and research experience preferred
- GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
- Interest in analytical sciences for small molecules, vaccines, and/or biologics
- Strong academic performance, communication skills, and teamwork ability
What you'll be doing
- Conduct experimental work on analytical methodology development for drug characterization
- Maintain accurate electronic notebook records of experimental details and data analysis
- Participate in departmental and project team meetings
- Present research results in oral and written formats
- Analyze and interpret data potentially used for scientific publications
