- Ability to assess and differentiate normal and abnormal species-specific animal behavior
- Experience with standard laboratory equipment such as scales, measures, and pipetting
- Comfort working with small and large animals in research settings
- Flexibility to work overtime and every third weekend when fully trained
- AALAS Certification preferred but not required
What you'll be doing
- Conduct animal research studies evaluating safety, effectiveness, and toxicity of drugs and chemical substances
- Perform husbandry duties, dosing techniques, and blood collection on small and large animals
- Collect biological samples and perform basic measurements including body weight and blood pressure
- Document findings in LIMS and monitor for behavioral changes or health concerns
- Perform medical imaging and maintain highest standards of animal care per AAALAC guidelines
Compensation$22/hr
