Role summary
Labcorp seeks a Production Bioinformatics Engineer to design and maintain clinical bioinformatics systems at scale. This founding team role combines software engineering, genomic data analysis, and production support to automate workflows and solve infrastructure challenges across the enterprise.

- Master's degree with 3+ years bioinformatics/computational biology/engineering experience, OR Ph.D., OR Bachelor's with 6+ years
- Experience with short-read and long-read sequencing platforms (Illumina, PacBio)
- Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or Java and UNIX/Linux command-line environments
- Knowledge of bioinformatics algorithms and genomic data analysis applications
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools (Docker, Nextflow, GitHub Actions)
- Understanding of clinical genomics regulatory requirements (CLIA, CAP, HIPAA)
- Full-stack web development experience with frameworks like Django, Flask, or React
What you'll be doing
- Engineer tools and workflows to analyze clinical genomic data and automate bioinformatics processes
- Develop web-based visualization tools for genomic data interaction and analysis
- Improve observability, monitoring, alerting, and reliability for production bioinformatics systems
- Troubleshoot complex issues across interconnected systems and collaborate with R&D and clinical teams
- Evaluate data quality and support development of processes to improve consistency and traceability
