Role summary
Medtronic seeks a Principal Workday Analyst to serve as lead security subject matter expert. This remote role defines, maintains, and optimizes the Workday security framework while partnering across HR, IT, Audit, and Compliance to ensure access aligns with business needs and data protection requirements.

- Bachelor's degree with 7+ years HCM systems and Workday Security configuration experience
- Advanced degree with 5+ years HCM systems and Workday Security configuration experience
- Hands-on Workday Security configuration in complex business environments
- Workday PRO Security certification (preferred)
- Experience in principal, lead, or senior analyst role supporting Workday Security
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with risk assessment capability
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to influence cross-functional stakeholders
What you'll be doing
- Lead Workday Security strategy, design, configuration, role assignments, and framework support
- Own Workday security configuration including domain/business process policies, roles, groups, and integration security
- Design and maintain scalable security models protecting confidential data while supporting business needs
- Evaluate security change requests, assess risk, and determine solutions aligned with governance and segregation of duties
- Partner with HR, Operations, IT, and functional teams to ensure security design supports business while maintaining compliance
