Role summary
Metrology Technician III at Thermo Fisher Scientific's Plainville facility will perform equipment calibrations and metrology services for a biopharmaceutical manufacturing operation, supporting both a new facility project and ongoing manufacturing operations within the Viral Vector Services division.
What they're looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 4+ years instrument calibration experience in pharmaceutical/regulated manufacturing, or 6+ years without degree
- Knowledge of cGMP regulations and federal/local regulatory requirements
- Proficiency with computer software including Excel, Word, MAXIMO, and Blue Mountain
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical blueprints
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements
What you'll be doing
- Perform calibrations and metrology services ensuring NIST and cGMP compliance for process and facility equipment
- Document calibration activities using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Support gown qualification and cleanroom activities
- Identify non-compliance areas and participate in deviation investigations and change control assessments
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to promote metrological best practices
