Role summary
Merit Medical seeks a Compliance Specialist to support healthcare compliance and risk management activities across Latin America. Based remotely or at the South Jordan, Utah headquarters, this role serves as the primary compliance business partner for Merit's Latin American operations, helping teams identify, assess, and mitigate regulatory and compliance risks.
What they're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare Management, or related field
- 5+ years experience in Compliance, Legal, Audit, Risk Management, Finance, or related functions
- Fluency in Spanish and English required; Portuguese proficiency preferred
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and build credibility across organizational levels
- Experience in highly regulated industries such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or life sciences preferred
- Experience managing investigations, third-party due diligence, conflicts of interest assessments, or compliance monitoring processes preferred
What you'll be doing
- Partner with business stakeholders to prevent, detect, and address potential compliance violations and regulatory breaches
- Provide practical, risk-based compliance guidance and consultation on commercial activities, HCP interactions, sponsorships, and business initiatives
- Serve as primary compliance point of contact and strategic business partner for Merit's Latin American operations
- Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks proactively; support third-party due diligence and conflict of interest management
- Coordinate compliance training, communications, and support deployment of compliance policies and improvement initiatives
