Zifo seeks a Lab Computing Engineer to provide on-site consulting and technical support for laboratory instrument systems and IT infrastructure at a San Diego client location. The role combines requirements management, IT consulting, vendor coordination, and hands-on lab IT support for pharmaceutical and biotech environments.

What they're looking for

Bachelor's or Master's degree in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, biomedical, or chemical field
5+ years technical experience with Windows, networking, remote computing, and backup systems
3+ years software development and testing experience
2+ years business requirements analysis and gathering experience
Excellent customer service, communication, and analytical skills
In-depth knowledge of bio/pharma domain areas such as drug discovery, lab workflows, or sample management
Familiarity with GLP, GMP, and relevant regulatory standards (preferred)

What you'll be doing

Analyze customer needs and define technical requirements for laboratory IT solutions
Provide break/fix support and preventative maintenance for instrument-connected systems
Evaluate vendor solutions and recommend process improvements based on industry best practices
Coordinate validation and compliance activities with internal teams and external service providers
Serve as primary technical liaison between system owners, field service engineers, and external vendors
