Role summary
Vertex Pharmaceuticals seeks a Gene Therapy Account Manager, Associate Director for the Southeast territory covering Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. This role manages key accounts at authorized treatment centers for Casgevy while supporting patient access and reimbursement across the Sickle Cell Disease and Transfusion-dependent β-thalassemia business unit.

- Minimum 8 years of key account or sales management experience
- Specialized biotech, device, or gene therapy field sales background
- Experience in hematology, transplant, oncology, or rare disease settings
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and hospital finance/billing processes
- Familiarity with prior authorization, specialty pharmacy networks, and payer landscapes
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel within assigned territory
What you'll be doing
- Serve as primary contact between authorized treatment centers and internal teams for patient access and reimbursement support
- Train and educate treatment centers on Casgevy and operational readiness throughout onboarding and activation
- Develop and execute account engagement strategies; track KPIs and patient journey milestones
- Build relationships with healthcare providers, administrators, and key decision-makers at treatment and referring sites
- Communicate access, reimbursement, billing, and coding principles; escalate complex topics to specialized teams
