Role summary
Amgen seeks a Director of Design & Innovation to lead biostatistics capabilities in India, managing teams across data stewardship, statistical monitoring, and randomization functions. The role combines strategic oversight of global alignment with operational responsibility for building and scaling India-based teams while driving innovation in clinical statistical approaches.
What they're looking for
- Master's degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline
- At least 8 years of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical research industry experience
- Demonstrated people management experience with direct reports
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Experience working effectively in globally distributed, cross-cultural environments
- Doctorate in Statistics or Biostatistics preferred
- Knowledge of drug development phases and regulatory submissions preferred
What you'll be doing
- Lead Design & Innovation functions in India across BMDS, CSM, SS, and GRB teams
- Translate global strategy into executable plans for India-based teams and ensure operational excellence
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing staff while building leadership bench strength
- Serve as primary liaison between India teams and global Design & Innovation leaders
- Ensure regulatory compliance, quality standards, and adherence to policies and SOPs
