Role summary

PCI Pharma Services seeks an Associate Director of Microbiology to provide strategic and technical leadership for the site microbiology organization. The role oversees cGMP manufacturing support programs including environmental monitoring, contamination control, and aseptic practices, while managing the microbiology team and ensuring regulatory compliance.

  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Life Sciences, or related scientific discipline
  • Minimum 8 years of microbiology experience in cGMP pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CDMO, or regulated environment
  • Minimum 4 years of progressive leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, USP, environmental monitoring, contamination control, and aseptic processing
  • Demonstrated experience leading microbiology programs for sterile or aseptic manufacturing
  • Master's degree in Microbiology or related discipline preferred
  • Experience with regulatory inspections, client audits, and contamination control strategy development preferred

What you'll be doing

  • Provide strategic leadership for the site microbiology organization including staffing, talent development, and succession planning
  • Oversee environmental monitoring, microbial testing, contamination control, and microbiological investigation programs
  • Lead the site Contamination Control Strategy and Committee for risk identification and mitigation
  • Ensure microbiology systems and procedures comply with cGMP, FDA, EMA, USP, and regulatory requirements
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Validation to ensure robust contamination control practices
