Role summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a Field Application Scientist to provide technical expertise and customer support for transmission electron microscope products across Southeast Asia. The role combines product demonstrations, troubleshooting, and sales enablement with extensive regional travel.

  • Master's degree in materials science, applied physics, or equivalent; PhD preferred
  • 5+ years of electron microscopy experience in materials science applications
  • Proficiency in EM techniques: diffraction, imaging, and spectrometry
  • Experience with Thermo Scientific EM instruments (Tecnai, Talos, Titan, Themis, Spectra) and software
  • Strong written and verbal technical presentation skills
  • Customer-facing experience with emotional intelligence and adaptability
  • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 60%) and fluent English

What you'll be doing

  • Deliver on-site and remote technical support and training to customers on TEM products
  • Perform product demonstrations at customer locations and NanoPort facilities
  • Diagnose and resolve product performance issues and customer inquiries
  • Support regional sales team with technical seminars and presentations to promote products
  • Maintain current expertise in TEM technology and scientific developments
