Role summary

This 10-12 week paid internship in Structural Chemistry supports drug discovery by using X-ray crystallography and cryo-electron microscopy to determine protein structures. GPA 3.0 or higher preferred; interest in challenging biological macromolecules preferred

What you'll be doing

Perform protein purification, characterization, and pre-crystallization assays using spectroscopic and chromatographic methods
Conduct crystallization screening, optimization, crystal harvesting, and grid preparation for cryo-EM
Collect, process, and analyze structural data; interpret protein-ligand complexes critically
Maintain accurate electronic notebook records and demonstrate safe laboratory practices
Present findings and attend departmental meetings to understand drug development processes
