Role summary
A 10-12 week summer internship in discovery biologics research within Merck's R&D division. Interns will work on projects spanning antibody discovery, protein design, characterization, expression, or cell engineering at locations in California or Massachusetts.
What they're looking for
- Currently pursuing BS/BA, MS, or Ph.D. in relevant field with drug discovery interest
- Basic laboratory skills in molecular biology, cell culture, or protein biochemistry techniques
- Training in safe lab practices and proper hazard handling
- Completion of at least two years undergraduate or one year graduate studies by June 2027
- Enrolled in academic program with continued enrollment through Fall 2027
- Available full-time June–August 2027 (10-12 weeks)
- Prior research experience in protein engineering or computational protein modeling preferred
