Role summary
Vertex seeks a Process Development Co-Op student for a 6-month program supporting Type 1 Diabetes cell therapy development. Participants will conduct experimental design, cell culture work, and data analysis while exploring alternative raw materials and bioreactor technologies in Boston.

- Basic exposure to cell culture techniques
- Experience compiling and graphing data
- Full-time availability January–June 2027
- Legal authorization to work in the United States; no sponsorship available
- Graduate enrollment required if graduating before June 2027
What you'll be doing
- Assist with experimental design and execution for Type 1 Diabetes cell therapy process development
- Perform cell culture work in 2D environments and record, compile, analyze, and present data
- Evaluate alternative raw materials to address program development challenges
- Assess stability and variability across raw material lots
- Learn about 3D bioreactor components of the manufacturing process
Compensation$30.00–$35.00 USD/hour
