Role summary
Six-month undergraduate co-op in drug substance manufacturing at Amgen's Cambridge, Massachusetts location. Students will apply synthetic organic chemistry and chemical engineering to scale pharmaceutical manufacturing processes from development through commercialization.
What they're looking for
- Currently enrolled full-time in accredited Bachelor's degree program with 3.0+ GPA
- Completion of at least one year of college study prior to co-op start
- 18 years or older; authorized to work in U.S. for program duration
- Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Data Sciences degree concentration preferred
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and project management skills
- Laboratory experience, flow chemistry, or Python data analysis experience a plus
What you'll be doing
- Apply synthetic organic chemistry and chemical engineering to scale pharmaceutical intermediate and API manufacturing processes
- Translate developmental manufacturing processes into commercial-scale production methods
- Collaborate with R&D, clinical, and commercial partners on process optimization
- Learn advanced manufacturing technologies for small-molecule drug substances
- Participate in cross-functional projects with scientists and engineers
Compensation$28.87 per hour
