Role summary
Integrated DNA Technologies seeks a Synthesis Technician II to operate synthesizers and liquid handling equipment for oligo production in the Coralville facility. The role involves maintaining standard work processes, managing inventory, and troubleshooting instrumentation on a weekend overnight schedule (Friday–Sunday, 7 pm–7:30 am).
What they're looking for
- Associate's degree or equivalent education and experience combination
- Prior experience with IDT synthesis processes
- Proficiency with synthesizer operation and organic chemistry applications
- Ability to lift 20–50 lbs occasionally and 10–15 lbs frequently
- Strong fine motor skills, visual acuity, and ability to read measurements and documentation
- SAP software familiarity preferred
- Liquid handling robot experience preferred
What you'll be doing
- Operate synthesizers and apply organic chemistries to produce high-quality oligonucleotides daily
- Run liquid handling robots and specialized lab equipment to maximize production throughput
- Process and prepare quality products for customer distribution
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and submit work orders for instrument problems
- Organize and prioritize lab workflow according to management direction
