Role summary
Moderna seeks an automation engineer to support the implementation and optimization of process automation systems across manufacturing facilities producing Individualized Neoantigen Therapies. - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline
- 5–8 years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology automation experience
- Strong expertise with Emerson DeltaV DCS process control systems
- Knowledge of ISA-95, ISA-88, cGMP, GAMP, and CSV regulatory standards
- Experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, industrial protocols, and middleware tools
- Proficiency in automation documentation including URS, FRS, CDS, and validation protocols
What you'll be doing
- Deploy and optimize process automation systems across new and existing manufacturing facilities
- Support development and maintenance of DCS, PLCs, SCADA, robotics, and VMware platforms
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automation with enterprise platforms and analytics
- Lead CAPEX projects from concept through commissioning and provide ongoing lifecycle support
- Coordinate validation activities and develop compliance documentation for cGMP and regulatory requirements
