Role summary
Amgen seeks a Senior Scientist to lead mammalian expression and cell line engineering efforts supporting protein therapeutic discovery. - PhD, PharmD, or MD with postdoctoral experience, or Master's with 3+ years cell biology experience, or Bachelor's with 5+ years cell biology experience
- Deep expertise in mammalian cell biology, expression construct design, and host cell engineering
- Experience developing or implementing automated, high-throughput, or data-rich expression workflows
- Understanding of how protein sequence, structure, and biophysical properties affect expression and developability
- Demonstrated scientific productivity through publications, patents, or technology implementations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
What you'll be doing
- Serve as technical expert in mammalian expression and cell line engineering across protein therapeutic programs
- Execute wet laboratory experiments for therapeutic protein expression in mammalian cells at bench and medium scales
- Develop and implement innovative mammalian expression and host cell engineering approaches to improve productivity and quality
- Solve complex technical problems related to protein expression, post-translational modification, and stability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including protein engineering, analytics, and data sciences to advance discovery programs
