Role summary
Merck's Pharmaceutical Commercialization Technology department seeks a Senior Scientist in Rahway, NJ to lead process development for small molecule solid dosage pharmaceuticals. - Proven ability to design and execute experimental programs with process scale-up and/or technology transfer experience
- Hands-on laboratory, pilot plant, or manufacturing facility experience
- Strong independent and collaborative work capabilities with mechanistic understanding and cost-consciousness
- Experience with process development, design of experiments, and Quality by Design principles
- Familiarity with cGMP regulations and good manufacturing practices in pharmaceutical context
What you'll be doing
- Plan, conduct, and interpret pharmaceutical process development studies including scale-up, technology transfer, and process validation
- Lead or participate in drug product working groups and cross-functional technology development teams
- Author technical documents such as experimental protocols, regulatory filings, and CMC sections for drug applications
- Evaluate innovative technologies and equipment, performing physical testing and data analysis
- Contribute to scientific publications and presentations; advance digital and data analytics capabilities
