Role summary
Senior Package Engineer role supporting design, development, and validation of medical device packaging systems for new and established products. The position involves managing packaging projects across manufacturing sites, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving innovation in sterile and non-sterile packaging solutions.
What they're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Scientific, or related field; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum two years relevant professional package engineering experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 11607-1:2019 and ISO 11607-2:2019 standards
- Experience with FDA and notified body audits in package engineering
- Knowledge of Human Factors and Usability testing for labeling and aseptic transfer
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across organizational levels
- Medical device industry experience preferred
What you'll be doing
- Develop and validate sterile and non-sterile packaging systems for new and established products
- Qualify packaging components and systems for R&D and packaging projects in timely manner
- Design package specifications considering product protection, regulatory requirements, and cost constraints
- Lead project teams managing packaging system manufacture, installation, qualification, and operation
- Identify and implement packaging and labeling improvement initiatives across multiple sites
