Role summary

AstraZeneca seeks a Senior Medical Science Liaison for its Cell Therapy program in Pennsylvania to serve as the local medical expert supporting hematologists and cell therapy providers. This field-based role involves building scientific relationships, educating healthcare providers on CAR-T therapies, and advancing clinical outcomes across Philadelphia and Pittsburgh territories.

What they're looking for

  • Advanced degree required: PharmD, MD/DO, PhD, PA, or NP in health science or clinical discipline
  • 5+ years hematology/oncology experience with at least 2 years in field medical or scientific engagement role
  • Experience supporting development and/or launch of new pharmaceutical products in U.S. market
  • Strong written and verbal communication with ability to distill complex scientific concepts
  • Experience operating in matrixed environment collaborating across Medical Affairs, Commercial, and R&D
  • Ability to travel 40-60% domestically by car, train, and plane
  • Doctorate degree with oncology/hematology specialization and direct cell therapy expertise preferred

What you'll be doing

  • Develop and maintain scientific relationships with hematology/cell therapy thought leaders and physicians across assigned territory
  • Engage in scientific exchanges with multidisciplinary treatment teams including oncologists, pharmacists, and nursing staff
  • Respond to scientific information requests and establish oneself as trusted scientific advisor to internal and external stakeholders
  • Educate cell therapy provider teams on disease state, CAR-T mechanism, safety, clinical management, and manufacturing processes
  • Gather site-level insights and communicate with medical leadership to inform strategy and address unmet patient needs
