Role summary
Cytokinetics seeks a Preformulation Scientist to support early-stage drug discovery for cardiovascular therapeutics. What they're looking for
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or related discipline
- 7+ years (M.S.) or 4+ years (Ph.D.) of industry preformulation and preclinical formulation experience
- Hands-on experience formulating poorly water-soluble compounds in discovery settings
- Demonstrated proficiency with HPLC/UPLC analysis and method development
- Practical experience with dose verification and biorelevant solubility assays (SGF, FaSSIF, FeSSIF)
- Strong knowledge of physicochemical and solid-state properties
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with excellent communication skills
What you'll be doing
- Serve as preformulation representative on discovery and early development project teams
- Design and evaluate formulations for non-clinical PK, pharmacology, and toxicology studies
- Lead preformulation assessment of new chemical entities including solubility, stability, and polymorphism
- Develop and qualify analytical methods supporting formulation characterization and stability
- Author technical reports and contribute data to regulatory filings and candidate selection decisions
