Role summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a Quality Control Supervisor for microbiology to oversee analytical testing and quality processes at the St. Louis Drug Substance Division site. The supervisor will lead a microbiology team, develop and maintain quality assurance procedures, and ensure regulatory compliance in a laboratory setting working 10-hour day shifts.

Bachelor's degree in biology or equivalent experience; microbiology degree preferred
Supervisory or team leadership experience
Proficient knowledge of microbiology, troubleshooting, and analytical assay transfer
Expertise in regulatory compliance: ICH, FDA/EMA guidelines, USP, Ph. Eur standards
Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
Experience with microbial identification and antibiotic susceptibility testing (desired)
Ability to work cross-functionally and engage with employees at all levels

What you'll be doing

Supervise and mentor microbiology Quality Control team members on technical and compliance matters
Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance and quality control processes
Lead problem-solving for deviations, complaints, corrective actions, and change controls
Monitor quality metrics, identify trends, and drive operational performance improvements
Ensure comprehensive staff training on cGMP, safety, and skills to support production needs
