Role summary
This role supports equipment maintenance operations at Illumina's San Diego facility on a second shift schedule (2pm–10:30pm). The technician independently manages complex maintenance tasks, troubleshooting, calibrations, and preventive maintenance while coordinating with engineering teams and monitoring equipment performance in a regulated manufacturing environment.

- At least 4 years of related maintenance experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows operating systems
- Advanced hands-on skills with data collection and results summarization
- Knowledge of optical, mechanical, electrical, and fluidic systems
- Experience with electrical and mechanical schematics
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
What you'll be doing
- Execute high-complexity maintenance tasks with minimal supervision using digital ticketing systems
- Perform equipment troubleshooting across optical, mechanical, electrical, and fluidics domains
- Plan and coordinate multiple parallel activities including calibrations, preventive maintenance, and supplier support
- Escalate advanced technical issues to engineers and collaborate on solutions
- Monitor equipment performance and manage technical inventory for assigned areas
Compensation$25.28 - $37.88 hourly
