Role summary
Amgen seeks a Patient Access Liaison to support patients, caregivers, and providers in navigating insurance coverage and reimbursement for TEPEZZA and other therapies. The field-based role focuses on resolving access barriers, educating stakeholders on prior authorization processes, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely therapy access.
What they're looking for
- Doctorate degree, or Master's degree with 2+ years patient services/access experience
- Bachelor's degree with 4+ years patient services/access experience, or equivalent education/experience combination
- Knowledge of insurance benefits, prior authorization, and reimbursement processes
- Experience supporting infused or specialty pharmaceutical therapies preferred
- Clinical background such as nursing preferred
- Rare disease or orphan drug experience preferred
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
What you'll be doing
- Assist patients, caregivers, and providers navigating insurance benefits and prior authorization requirements
- Investigate and resolve access challenges including coverage denials and reimbursement barriers
- Educate physician offices and infusion centers on therapy coverage pathways and billing practices
- Develop patient relationships through phone, virtual, and in-person engagement within assigned geography
- Collaborate with internal teams including Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Case Management to support patient access
